It might seem like someone kinda clever (or maybe kinda hungry!) just dipped a leftover chili pepper in some liquid chocolate, took a bite, and their head just about exploded, the taste sensation was so amazing. But actually, chocolate with exotic spices is something that goes back to the Aztec times, and chili was ever-present in chocolate in its original Mexican hot liquidy form. Somehow, centuries went by and the world seemed to forget about chocolate infused with a peppery kick, until recently. Now you'll see chili chocolate spring up in a multitude of wonderful ways - chocolate infused with Tabasco, gritty Mexican chocolate discs from Taza with a hint of chili, Lindt dark chocolate bar specialties, and plenty more where that came from. It's a little bit adventurous, a little bit classy, and all sorts of delicious.
